Responsibilities:
- Capable of establishing and developing vendor relationships in South East Asia, including carriers, transporters/brokers and port operators, etc.
- Procurements of transport, warehousing and ocean freight rates locally and internationally for both import and export cargoes
- Preparation and submission of quotations and proposals
- Maintain and develop existing/new customer relations with specific focus on Clearing and Forwarding
- Work closely with other Commercial and Business Unit Managers within South East Asia and other Group entities globally
- Attend networking and directing customers enquiries
- Request rates from service providers and assist Business Development Manager for all proposals
compilation - Establish and develop vendor relationships in South East Asia e.g. with transporters, barge brokers/
carriers, container shipping lines and freight forwarders - Maintain high standard of service delivery at all times
- Must be able to resolve problems/queries efficiently
- Address internal and external operational issues, liaise and coordinate with vendors (ports operators, transporters etc.) and internal customers
- Attend monthly commercial activity reporting in the form of sales pipeline/enquiry register
- Prepare and submit customer onboarding documents to legal for review
- Work through service agreements for secured businesses with legal department
- Ensure compliance to Group Policies
- Other duties as assigned by the Superior
Requirements:
- Diploma/Degree holder
- Minimum 3-years sales/estimator experience in South East Asia including Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam and Indonesia
- Excellent commercial and entrepreneurial flair is critical to the success of this role
- Strong builder of relationships with interest parties
- Good knowledge of the shipping and logistics management industries specifically focused on: Local and Over Border transport / Airfreight and LCL
- Analytical in approach with capabilities of compiling shipment estimates
- Proven ability to work on cross-functional and multicultural teams
- Meticulous, responsible and positive working attitude willingness to help others
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Adaptable and able to accommodate prevailing conditions
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
- Ability to work effectively in a high pressure and fast paced working environment meeting deadlines and/or beyond office hours
- Ability to travel
- Strong organisational and good administrative skills
- Proactive and a quick learner
- Experience in 3PL/4PL logistics sector/Clearing & forwarding/General cargo/Mining/Renewable energy/Oil & Gas/Project Cargo is preferred
- Have ability to attract new customer/business
