Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced LNG Tank Construction Manager to lead the construction of large-scale LNG storage tanks, ensuring compliance with international standards, safety regulations, and project timelines. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing LNG tank construction on major projects such as PNG LNG, Gorgon LNG, Ichthys LNG, or similar mega-projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of LNG tank construction, including civil works, tank erection, welding, insulation, and commissioning.
- On-Site Leadership of a multidisciplinary construction team, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure high-quality execution and world class HSE standards.
- Ensure compliance with international codes and project specifications.
- Develop and implement construction schedules, budgets, and risk mitigation plans.
- Interface with engineering, procurement, and HSE teams to ensure seamless project execution.
- Monitor progress, resolve technical issues, and ensure adherence to safety and environmental standards.
- Ensure site technical inspections and quality audits to ensure work meets project requirements.
- Report to senior project management on construction progress, challenges, and solutions.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelors degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering (or related field).
- Minimum 10+ years of experience in LNG construction, (specific LNG Tank Construction experience!!) with at least 5 years in a leadership role on major LNG projects.
- Prior experience on LNG projects such as PNG LNG, Gorgon LNG, QatarGas, Prelude FLNG, Ichthys LNG, Golden Pass or similar is essential.
- Strong knowledge of LNG storage tank design, materials, welding techniques, and cryogenic insulation systems.
- Familiarity with modular construction and pre-fabrication techniques for remote locations.
- Proven ability to work in challenging environments, preferably with experience in Africa or other emerging LNG markets.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Desired Skills:
- Fluency in English (Portuguese is a plus).
- Experience working with EPC contractors (e.g., Bechtel, Chiyoda, JGC, TechnipFMC, Saipem, CB&I).
- Strong understanding of HSE standards in high-risk construction environments.
