Cakum Global is looking for a Turkish-speaking Linguist / Logistics Specialist for an Airfield Asphalt Construction operation with our client on a remote U.S. island in the Pacific. The role is a full-time independent contractor (1099) role for a period of 4 to 5 years.

Job Summary The Turkish Linguist / Logistics Specialist is responsible for combining advanced Turkish linguistic capabilities with logistics expertise to facilitate seamless communication and coordination with Marini technicians in Turkey regarding hot mix asphalt plant operations, as well as assist with logistics and supply chain needs of the operation. The successful candidate will serve as the primary communication bridge between our clients Tinian Island-based airfield construction operations and Turkish technical specialists, while managing critical logistics functions for asphalt plant operations.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide expert Turkish language services for all communications with Marini technicians and Turkish technical partners.
  • Translate technical documentation, specifications, and operational procedures between Turkish and English.
  • Coordinate logistics operations for asphalt plant equipment, materials, and technical support services.
  • Manage supply chain communications and documentation with Turkish suppliers and technical teams.
  • Facilitate real-time interpretation during technical consultations, troubleshooting sessions, and operational meetings.
  • Maintain detailed records of all technical communications and logistics coordination activities.
  • Coordinate shipment schedules, customs documentation, and import/export requirements for Turkish-sourced materials and equipment.
  • Support quality control processes by translating technical specifications and compliance documentation.
  • Assist in training material preparation and localization for Turkish technical procedures.
  • Manage digital communication platforms and databases for multilingual logistics coordination.
  • Support emergency response communications when technical issues arise with asphalt plant operations.
  • Coordinate with project managers to ensure seamless integration of Turkish technical support with US operations.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all technical and business communications per company protocols.

Required Qualifications

  • Must be a United States Citizen or Green Card holder (NON-NEGOTIABLE).
  • Native or near-native fluency in both written and spoken Turkish and English.
  • Minimum 2 years of proven experience in logistics, supply chain management, or related field.
  • Good computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (Associate degree preferred).
  • Demonstrated ability to translate technical documentation accurately between Turkish and English.
  • Experience with international shipping, customs procedures, and import/export documentation.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in record-keeping and documentation.
  • Ability to work independently in remote locations with minimal supervision.
  • Physical capability to work in outdoor construction environments when required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional translation or interpretation certification (Turkish-English).
  • Previous experience in construction, asphalt operations, or heavy industrial environments.
  • Knowledge of asphalt pavement operations, hot mix asphalt plants, or construction materials.
  • Experience with Marini equipment or similar asphalt plant machinery.
  • Familiarity with Turkish business culture and commercial practices.
  • OSHA 10-hour safety certification or willingness to obtain.
  • Experience with logistics software.
