Buy-Side Equity Research Analyst (Associate level)

We're seeking a Buy-Side Equity Research Analyst (Associate level) to support portfolio decision-making through rigorous, independent company analysis. This role is ideal for a candidate who can critically assess sell-side research and translate insights into clear, actionable investment thesis.

Key Responsibilities

• Independently evaluate listed companies based on competitive advantages, industry structure, growth outlook, capital allocation strategy, and valuation.
• Synthesize insights from sell-side research, economic reports, management interviews, and discussions with market participants, separating facts from narrative.
• Develop well-structured, forward-looking investment thesis to support buy/hold/sell decisions.
• Monitor portfolio holdings and provide timely updates on earnings, sector developments, and key risks.
• Support the investment team with company notes, valuation updates, and investment committee materials.
• Mentor and guide junior analysts to strengthen research capabilities.

Technical Competencies

• Strong understanding of equity valuation and financial modelling.
• Solid foundation in financial statement analysis and industry research.
• Ability to interpret macroeconomic and sector-level drivers impacting equities.
• Strong analytical thinking with attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; exposure to Bloomberg / Capital IQ is an advantage.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelors degree in finance, Economics, Mathematics, Accounting, or a related discipline.
• 2–4 years of experience in equity research/ investment research and, or financial analysis (buy-side or sell-side).
• Progress toward CFA qualification will be an added advantage.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present investment ideas clearly.
