About the Role

We are looking for a proactive and technically grounded Systems Engineer to support the daily operations, maintenance, and stability of our core IT infrastructure. This role is focused on the hands-on administration of server environments, network connectivity, and specialized operational workflows, ensuring our systems are secure and available for all business-critical activities.

Job Responsibilities

  • Deploy, configure, and maintain on-premise server hardware and virtualized environments to ensure consistent uptime.
  • Execute Beginning-of-Day (BOD) and End-of-Day (EOD) operational tasks for trading systems, ensuring all batch processes complete successfully and the platform is ready for active trading.
  • Provide day-to-day administration for Linux and Windows servers, including routine patching, user access management, and system health monitoring.
  • Assist in the maintenance of network infrastructure, including the setup and troubleshooting of switches, firewalls, and office connectivity.
  • Monitor virtualization platforms (VMware/Hyper-V) to ensure efficient performance for hosted applications.
  • Conduct regular data backup operations and assist in periodic disaster recovery (DR) drills to verify data integrity.
  • Implement endpoint security measures, including antivirus updates, device hardening, and adherence to security compliance checklists.
  • Update and maintain technical documentation, including system configurations, IP schemas, and hardware asset inventories.
  • Identify and troubleshoot system bottlenecks or hardware failures, escalating complex issues when necessary.
  • Provide 1st and 2nd level technical support to internal staff, ensuring timely resolution of infrastructure-related queries.

Candidate Profile

  • Degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • 1–3 years of hands-on experience in systems administration, network support, or IT operations.
  • Foundational knowledge of Linux (Ubuntu/CentOS/RHEL) and Windows Server environments.
  • Good understanding of networking basics (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs) and firewall fundamentals.
  • Ability to follow strict operational procedures, particularly regarding financial system cycles (BOD/EOD).
  • Familiarity with virtualization tools and enterprise backup software.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a high-pressure, time-sensitive environment.
  • Basic experience with O365 administration and Active Directory is an advantage.
