JOB SUMMARY

• Registered Nurses deliver to care patient utilizing the nursing process. Nurse collaborate with other professional disciplines to ensure effective patient care delivery and achievement of desired patient outcomes. Nurses effectively interact with patient and significant others, while maintaining the standard of professional nursing. Registered Nurses provide direct and individualized nursing care to patients based on the application of scientific nursing principles. Due to broad range of medical conditions they encounter, the must be well-versed in a large variety of health conditions.
  

• Registered Nurses have a professional obligation to participate in committee activities, surveys and improvement initiatives. In addition, Registered Nurses must uphold the standards of the Texas Nurse Practice Act.

• Surgical Services Registered Nurses are responsible for the delivery of safe, effective and quality patient-family centered care in the Operating Room, Gastroenterology lab and other areas of perioperative services for all patient populations.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum Education
• Associate's degree
• Minimum Work Experience - 1+ to 2 years experience
• No Previous experience
• BLS - should not initiate patient contact until completed.
• ACLS should be completed within 90 days of hire.
• NIH Stroke Scale should be completed withing 90 days of hire.
• PALS or ENPC should be completed within 6 months of hire.

• Maintains professional appearance at all times.
• Ability to handle confidential information
