Responsibilities
- Education: Graduation in Geology
- Experience: 10-15 years relevant Experience
- Conduct geological surveys to help develop drilling and extraction procedures.
- Perform geological research to locate potential mining sites and evaluate them for viability.
- Design open-pit or underground mines and supervise construction.
- Develop extraction methods to ensure safety and maintain compliance with regulations.
- Monitor and evaluate production rates and the quality of material recovered. Conducting surveys and interpreting geological data in order to inform drilling and production procedure.
- Ensuring all procedures adhere to health and safety regulations and pit mapping.
- Liaising with a range of experts including other geologists, engineers, metallurgy experts and mine workers.
- Included mapping related to production and ore grade.
- Dealt with complex stratigraphic and structural mapping.
- Dealt with ground water and associated hydrogeologic problems that influenced production.
- Worked with government agencies.
- Surveyed long wall gate roads and mine entry development when surveyor was absent.
- Vendor management is a pre-requisite.
- Experience in Exploration and Drilling.
