Responsibilities
  • Education: Graduation in Geology
  • Experience: 10-15 years relevant Experience
  • Conduct geological surveys to help develop drilling and extraction procedures.
  • Perform geological research to locate potential mining sites and evaluate them for viability.
  • Design open-pit or underground mines and supervise construction.
  • Develop extraction methods to ensure safety and maintain compliance with regulations.
  • Monitor and evaluate production rates and the quality of material recovered. Conducting surveys and interpreting geological data in order to inform drilling and production procedure.
  • Ensuring all procedures adhere to health and safety regulations and pit mapping.
  • Liaising with a range of experts including other geologists, engineers, metallurgy experts and mine workers.
  • Included mapping related to production and ore grade.
  • Dealt with complex stratigraphic and structural mapping.
  • Dealt with ground water and associated hydrogeologic problems that influenced production.
  • Worked with government agencies.
  • Surveyed long wall gate roads and mine entry development when surveyor was absent.
  • Vendor management is a pre-requisite.
  • Experience in Exploration and Drilling.
