Job Description: General Manager (Marine Division)

Location: Dubai

Position Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced General Manager to lead our Marine Division. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the division's operations, including managing a team of 60-70 people, ensuring high-quality service delivery, fostering strong relationships with clients, and driving business growth. The General Manager will play a key role in strategizing, planning, and executing initiatives to maintain and expand our presence in the marine industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Leadership and Team Management:

    • Effectively manage and lead a team of 60-70 personnel, including supervisors, technicians, and administrative staff.
    • Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to team members to enhance their performance and foster a positive work environment.
    • Delegate tasks and responsibilities appropriately to ensure smooth operations and optimal productivity.
  2. Operational Oversight:

    • Oversee all operational activities within the Marine Division, including mechanical works such as engines, deckworks, and other marine services.
    • Ensure adherence to industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies and procedures.
    • Monitor operational performance metrics, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions as necessary to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  3. Client Relationship Management:

    • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with ship owners, charter companies, and other stakeholders in the marine industry.
    • Act as the primary point of contact for key clients, addressing their needs, resolving issues, and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
    • Develop and implement strategies to expand the client base and secure new business opportunities.
  4. Business Development:

    • Collaborate with senior management to develop strategic plans and objectives for the Marine Division, aligned with the company's overall goals and vision.
    • Identify market trends, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities to inform business development initiatives.
    • Participate in the negotiation of contracts, agreements, and partnerships with clients and suppliers.
  5. Compliance and Regulatory Affairs:

    • Stay abreast of regulatory requirements, industry standards, and best practices related to marine operations.
    • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, certifications, and quality standards, including those set forth by ADNOC and ARAMCO for charter vessels.
    • Liaise with regulatory authorities as needed to maintain compliance and resolve any compliance-related issues.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum 15 years of experience in the Marine industry, with a proven track record of success in a leadership role.
  • Extensive experience in dealing with ship owners, charter companies, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Strong technical knowledge of marine operations, including mechanical works, engines, and deckworks.
  • Experience in working with ADNOC and ARAMCO charter vessels is highly desirable.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to drive business growth, manage large teams, and deliver results in a dynamic and competitive environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
