Job Description:
Electrical System Diagnostics and Repairs:
- Diagnose electrical and electronic problems in vehicles and equipment, using diagnostic tools such as multimeters, test lights, and scan tools.
- Repair and replace faulty wiring, connectors, switches, relays, fuses, sensors, and other electrical components.
- Troubleshoot and repair lighting systems, starting systems, charging systems, ignition systems, and other electrical circuits.
- Work with wiring diagrams and schematics to trace circuits and identify faults.
- Install and repair auxiliary electrical equipment, such as lights, radios, and communication systems.
Preventative Electrical Maintenance:
- Perform preventative maintenance inspections and services on vehicle electrical systems according to schedules.
- Inspect wiring, connections, and components for wear, damage, or corrosion.
- Test circuits and components to ensure proper operation.
Record Keeping:
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, including parts used, time spent, and diagnostic findings.
- Complete work orders and other required documentation.
Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to all electrical safety regulations and procedures, including lockout/tagout procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
Equipment and Tool Maintenance:
- Maintain and care for assigned electrical tools and test equipment.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or needed repairs.
