About the job Maintenance Assistant Manager
Summary: The Maintenance Assistant Manager supports the Maintenance Manager in ensuring that all Canad Inns maintenance standards are met or exceeded. This role assists in coordinating daily maintenance operations, performing repairs, and maintaining the propertys facilities and equipment to ensure a safe, clean, and well-functioning environment. The Assistant Manager works closely with the Maintenance Manager, General Manager, and Corporate Facilities Management team to address maintenance needs, prioritize tasks, and uphold property appearance and operational efficiency across all areas.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Assists in implementing maintenance plans and procedures to support departmental goals.
- Supports adherence to Canad Inns standards of maintenance quality, repairs, and upkeep across all areas of the property.
- Conducts regular inspections to identify maintenance needs and ensure the safe and efficient operation of all equipment and facilities.
- Assists with managing maintenance inventory, supplies, and purchasing as directed by the Maintenance Manager.
- Supports the Maintenance Manager in training, guiding, and coordinating maintenance team members to ensure efficient workflow and quality results.
- Performs hands-on maintenance and repair tasks as required to maintain smooth operations and minimize downtime.
- All other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
- Previous experience in facility maintenance, building operations, or a related trade; experience in a supervisory or lead-hand role.
- Solid knowledge of building systems, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general repairs.
- Strong understanding of workplace safety procedures and preventive maintenance practices.
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple maintenance tasks in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills with the ability to support and motivate others.
- Good computer skills for maintenance recordkeeping, work orders, and inventory management.
- Availability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends or evenings, as required by operational needs.
