Lead Reliability, Drive Improvements, and Shape the Future of Our Facility

The Plant Engineer plays a critical leadership role in ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operation of all plant equipment and facility systems. This position leads the Maintenance Department, oversees capital and repair projects, and champions continuous improvement initiatives that reduce downtime and strengthen overall equipment performance. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise, hands‑on leadership, and a proactive, solutions‑driven mindset.

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead, mentor, and grow a high‑performing Maintenance Department focused on quality, responsiveness, and reliability.
  • Set clear expectations for work standards, response times, and preventive maintenance execution.
  • Align daily maintenance priorities with production, engineering, and safety teams.
  • Build a culture rooted in accountability, communication, and continuous improvement.

Equipment Reliability & Continuous Improvement

  • Own and elevate the Preventive Maintenance (PM) program—strengthen schedules, documentation, and execution.
  • Monitor equipment performance, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Lead machine installations, equipment upgrades, rebuilds, and major repair projects.
  • Drive initiatives that reduce downtime, extend asset life, and improve process stability.

Facility & Infrastructure Management

  • Oversee building improvements, facility repairs, and infrastructure upgrades.
  • Manage facility systems including HVAC, air compressors, lighting, racking, sewer, roofing, and environmental systems.
  • Ensure all facility operations support safe, efficient, and reliable manufacturing.

Safety & Compliance

  • Partner with the Safety Team to execute plant‑wide safety improvements and risk‑reduction projects.
  • Maintain OSHA‑required documentation and ensure compliance with all regulatory and internal safety standards.
  • Promote a safety‑first culture across maintenance and production teams.

Manufacturing Support

  • Provide technical support across assembly, welding, stamping, robotics, pneumatics, electronics, and laser cutting operations.
  • Collaborate with production leaders to troubleshoot issues and support process improvements.

Qualifications

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience leading maintenance activities in a manufacturing environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to read technical drawings

Preferred

  • Associate degree in a technical field
  • Experience with Acrobat Reader
  • Experience with Kronos and/or Epicor
  • Background in facility systems, maintenance leadership, or equipment reliability
  • Exposure to Lean, 5S, or continuous improvement methodologies

Physical Requirements

  • Combination of office work and extensive walking throughout the facility
  • Ability to work safely around heavy equipment and industrial environments
