Role Description

Helium is looking to hire a Business Development Executive to join their fast growing team in leveraging their existing market access, knowledge and insights to lead expansion efforts into new business lines. An Ideal candidate will function as an intrapreneur within their growing ecosystem and be responsible for driving ideas and concepts through the entire product life cycle from ideation through to a working product, building a business case around the product, taking it to market, positioning the right team around it and iterating that process until scale.

Responsibilities

  • Be the driving force for new business development within our ecosystem and take an operational lead in implementing all related plans and strategies.
  • Conduct research that exposes useful market insights and customer feedback that improves the attractiveness of your offering by mirroring clearly the answer to your target customer needs and wants.
  • Take full ownership of the product roadmap for your business line and collaborate with key designers, engineers and stakeholders to define and execute on a winning strategy.
  • Pitch the solution clearly and convincingly to internal stakeholders as well as all external leads and customers as well as our partners and investors.
  • Iterate on your strategy to grow the business line within Nigeria and other African countries executing at lightning speed. 
  • Take full ownership of the product roadmap for your business line and collaborate with key designers, engineers and stakeholders to define and execute on a winning strategy.
  • Leverage research that exposes useful market insights and customer feedback in building and growing out the customer base for business lines while ensuring consistent iteration on scalable and profitable strategies. 
  • Provide the groundwork and customer focused use case for driving new business lines.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years experience in new business/business development activities in product
    management or project management within a technology company.
  • Past experience in managing a new business development project end to end.
  • Entrepreneurial and fearless, with a demonstrated ability to figure things out with existing or limited resources.
  • An innovative mindset that is extremely creative and constantly looking for ways to improve upon things.
  • Prior experience interacting and dealing with C- level executives.
  • Strong bias for action and “rolling up your sleeves” to get the job done.
  • Proven ability to develop strong relationships and partner with internal and external stakeholders to develop strategies and execute with excellence.
