About the job Laboratory Manager (Marine Lab-Testing)
Functions and Accountabilities:
1. To accomplish organizational objectives, plan, coordinate, and oversee all lab operations.
2. Oversee a group of analysts to guarantee that regular sample tests are carried out on schedule.
3. When necessary, give the lab shift-in-charge and analysts technical advice on how to handle abnormal samples so they can carry out the test.
4. Before introducing a new test method and related instrument into the laboratory, it is important to select, verify, and validate them.
5. Conduct competency assessments and give new hires and current employees the training they need.
6. To minimize downtime and guarantee the validity and traceability of results, implement equipment performance monitoring, calibration, and maintenance.
7. Arrange for the necessary equipment acquisition and/or maintenance.
8. Make sure all licenses are obtained and upheld.
9. Regular evaluation and calibration program adjustment
10. Commission new equipment in accordance with operational needs
11. Oversee a group of technical advisors and make sure that all reports are produced on schedule and in compliance with the terms of the contract.
12. Assist the technical advisors in offering their perspectives, interpreting test findings, and making technical recommendations.
13. Provide issue reports for problem investigations, ad hoc project reports, and crucial extra test reports.
14. Prepare, organize, and modify all PTP and robin results before submitting them to the ASTM portal, SQC system, etc.
15. Overseeing quality control overall
16. Verify that all analytical data provided by the analyst is accurate, timely, and comprehensive.
17. Coordinate and oversee all oil major or regulatory/accrediting body inspections.
Job prerequisites:
A minimum of six years of experience in a petroleum testing laboratory testing fuel, lubricant, diesel, and grease
3 years at least in a comparable rolefamiliarity with IP, ASTM, and ISO methodsfamiliarity with ISO 17025
