About the job Project Engineer (Marine Safety)
Responsibilities:
- Handles all technical discussions with shipyard, owners, and relevant parties and communicates the requirements with other parties in the Company.
- Ensures that assigned projects are properly managed and profitability is maintained from handover to project completion.
- Responsible for project documentations, ensuring that the projects are delivered on time and have the acceptance by Class, Owner and Yard (customer). Guides and ensure that Customers Service Coordinators provides the right service level to each customers project.
- Reporting to Project Manager, responsible for projects assigned to him/her from handover from sales to project completion.
- Monitor, review and take corrective actions to ensure that projects are managed properly in the Companys ERP system (IFS):
- Documents Delivery Date and Projects/Products Delivery Dates are correct in IFS.
- Projects are invoiced on time.
- On site meetings on technical issues at customer locations.
- Handle technical claims issues from shipyard and report this in the improvement system.
- Keeping status on documents and drawings submission status.
- Responsible for and authorized to implement all necessary changes in the equipment.
- Get acceptance of deliveries and test of system by Class, Owner and Yard (customer).
- Provide feedback and product improvement necessity input to relevant managers and Product Management.
- Preparation of proper information/documents to Manual and Data Base, setting or programming of equipment prior to deliveries.
- Responsible for ensuring compliance with project budgets.
- Up-keeping good HSE (Health, Safety and Environment) practices as laid out up the Company at all times.
- Responsible for any third party (classification/ flag administration) approvals and compliance.
- Ensure project schedule, targets and plans are followed and in compliance with the customers' contract in respective areas.
- Ensuring that customers receive the service required and to resolve any problems that occur as quickly and efficiently as possible.
- Responsible for performing constructional/ design job based on received data, assumption, pre-design, etc, for his or her projects.
- Supporting the Sales team when doing variation orders.
- Specify and document the material required to fulfil the obligations in the contract and hand over to the Customer Service Team.
- Ensure that the projects are carried out according to the approved technical standards agreed with Product Managers.
- Work actively and closely to reduce operating costs and cost of goods.
- Any other duty or projects as assigned by his/her line Manager from time to time.
Requirements:
- Diploma or Degree in Marine/Mechanical/Electrical/Offshore Engineering
- Minimum 1 year of experience in service, commissioning or engineering of similar application.
- Knowledge in fire protection system will have advantage.
- Good command of the English language, both oral and written
- Problems solving, troubleshooting and analytical skills
- Self-motivated, high energy, hand-on, possess initiative, responsible and proactive
- Team oriented and able to work independently.
- Willing to travel when needed.
- An outgoing personality with good communication and people skills at all levels
- Fresh graduate who has 3D Modelling Knowledge (AutoCAD) are welcomed to apply.
