Position: Outside Sales Representative - Commercial Specification

Our client is a leading Lighting & Controls Company with over 15 years of success in the industry. They are currently seeking an experienced Outside Sales Representative to increase Commercial Specification sales. This role is integral to the company's growth and provides a rewarding opportunity for the right candidate.
Responsibilities:
- Establish and maintain relationships with key decision-makers in the specification process, including Architects, Designers, and Contractors.
- Develop a strategic territory sales plan and sales call schedule to effectively cover accounts.
- Track and report on activity and potential sales opportunities.
- Conduct product presentations and training sessions with A&E firms and contractors.
- Provide technical consultation on lighting design, code compliance, and energy efficiency standards.
- Work closely with internal support teams, manufacturers, and distribution partners to manage quoting, submittals, and project follow-up.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of outside sales experience in the lighting or electrical industry.
- Strong understanding of lighting technologies, lighting controls, and energy codes.
- Experience calling on specifiers required.
- Self-motivated with excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
- Based in Portland; valid driver’s license and ability to travel.
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience
- LC (Lighting Certified) or other relevant certifications a plus.
- Existing relationships within the Portland/Greater Oregon construction and electrical community.
