About the job RF Team Leader (North)

RF Engineer Team Lead – North Region

Department: Design, Planning & Optimization (DPO)
Location: North Region (Thailand)

Role Summary

Lead the North Region RF Engineering team to ensure end‑to‑end network performance, superior customer experience, KPI achievement, and continuous improvement across 2G/3G/4G/5G RAN. The role focuses on customer satisfaction (NPS, churn reduction), complaint handling, black/white cell improvement, interference management, and performance optimization.

Key Responsibilities

1. End‑to‑End Performance & Customer Experience

  • Monitor daily/weekly RAN KPIs and ensure SLA achievement.
  • Improve customer experience for NPS, churn drivers, and complaint hotspots.
  • Lead investigation and resolution of VIP and high‑impact customer complaints.

2. Network Optimization & Problem Management

  • Manage problematic clusters, black cells, white spots, and worst cells.
  • Conduct root‑cause analysis and apply optimization actions for coverage, capacity, mobility, and interference issues.
  • Identify internal/external interference and lead interference hunting activities.
  • Perform parameter consistency checks and correct deviations.

3. RAN Features, Software & Mobility Strategy

  • Plan and deploy RAN features across LTE/NR and ensure performance benefits.
  • Support software upgrade activities, in-band upgrades, and post‑upgrade tuning.
  • Optimize mobility strategy (HO parameters, layer steering, load balancing).

4. Field Testing & Benchmarking

  • Lead drive test, walk test, NBTC compliance, and benchmarking activities.
  • Manage event performance support—concerts, festivals, stadiums—with real‑time monitoring and rapid KPI recovery.
  • Provide findings and recommendations with E2E performance review reports.

5. Capacity & Quality Management

  • Monitor capacity for LTE/NR layers (PRB, CE, DL/UL load, M-MIMO) and propose expansions or configurations (add sector, small cells, TDD config).
  • Improve coverage and throughput through antenna optimization and parameter tuning.

6. Governance & Acceptance

  • Review and approve PAC/FAC/SSOA for new sites, expansions, relocations.
  • Ensure network design quality aligns with optimization requirements before acceptance.
  • Maintain reporting accuracy and documentation standards.

Qualifications

Technical Skills

  • 7+ years in RAN optimization (2G/3G/4G/5G).
  • Strong KPI understanding: CSSR, CDR, HOSR, throughput, latency, interference, congestion.
  • Proficiency with ENIQ, SmartCare, TEMS, Nemo, Actix, Azenqos, MapInfo, etc.
  • Strong knowledge of parameter tuning, PCI/PSC planning, and antenna/RF fundamentals.

Leadership & Soft Skills

  • Team lead or senior engineer experience.
  • Strong communication and cross‑functional coordination.
  • Able to manage customer escalations and high‑pressure situations.
  • Analytical, decisive, with strong problem‑solving skills.

Preferred

  • Experience with AIS/True/DTAC networks or Ericsson/Nokia systems.
  • Familiarity with North Region topology and customer behavior.
  • Experience with data analytics or automation tools (Excel macro, Tableau, Python)
