Job Summary
The Installer is responsible for physical installation of telecom infrastructure, including racks, cabling, power systems, and network equipment within central offices and remote facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Install relay racks, cabinets, fuse panels, and superstructure
- Run, terminate, and label copper and fiber cabling between equipment
- Install and power telecom equipment (e.g., chassis, line cards)
- Perform node installations and cabling per engineering design
- Assist with DC power systems including rectifiers and batteries
- Support equipment turn-up and commissioning activities
- Maintain installation standards, labeling, and documentation
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with telecom equipment installation and rack-and-stack work
- Knowledge of DC power systems and cabling standards
- Ability to read engineering drawings and installation plans
- Familiarity with structured cabling and testing procedures
- Strong attention to detail and safety compliance
Work Environment
- Central offices and remote sites
- Physically demanding (lifting, cabling, rack installation)
- Requires own tools and equipment
