Senior Finance System Engineer

We are seeking a skilled and hands-on Senior Finance Systems Engineer to support our fast-growing Finance Technology & Infrastructure team. This role is ideal for someone with deep expertise in NetSuite custom development, Workato iPaaS automation, and finance system architecture. You will play a critical role in building, optimizing, and supporting automation and integrations across the finance tech stackensuring systems are scalable, secure, and aligned with operational goals.

This is a position focused on execution. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a strong engineering mindset, be able to collaborate with our Functional team members, capable of owning tasks from design to deployment with minimal oversight.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead technical design and implementation of automations and integrations using Workato, particularly recipes, triggers, actions, error handling, and connection management.
• Build and maintain SuiteScript 2.x solutions (User Events, Suitelets, RESTlets) and SuiteFlow customizations within NetSuite to support finance workflows.
• Administer and support NetSuite modules across Procure-to-Pay, Record-to-Report, and Revenueincluding billing, journal entries, amortization, and multi-entity configuration.
• Maintain and enhance integrations with external platforms such as Zip, Zylo, Workday, and Databricks, leveraging Workato or REST APIs.
• Troubleshoot complex system issues across NetSuite and integrated platforms; resolve errors related to data sync, mapping, and performance degradation.
• Collaborate with Finance SMEs to gather requirements, deliver solutions, and document technical processes and architecture.
• Proactively monitor system performance, integration health, and Workato job success/failure metrics; identify opportunities to improve resiliency and throughput.
• Participate in testing, change management, and documentation as part of platform upgrades or deployment of new features.
• Support SOX controls, segregation of duties, and audit requirements as needed.

Qualifications:

• At least 6+ years of experience in enterprise business systems, including at least 3+ years working with NetSuite and Workato.
• Strong command of SuiteScript 2.0, NS Analytics, Saved Searches, Workflows, and custom records in NetSuite.
• Strong knowledge with SuiteCloud Development Framework, and using Github for code management.
• Advanced experience designing, building, and debugging Workato connectors and recipes, including conditional logic, batch processing, error handling, and API-based integrations.
• Proficiency with SQL, JSON, and working with REST/SOAP APIs.
• Experience creating custom RESTlets in NetSuite for integration purposes
• Experience supporting Finance and Accounting teams, with exposure to close processes, billing cycles, and intercompany workflows.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
• Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.

Preferred:

• Understanding of SOX compliance requirements and security best practices in a SaaS environment.

• Experience in a hypergrowth or multi-entity, international finance org structure.

• Understanding of Oracle Database and experience using SQL developer.
