German-Speaking Content Moderator (Hybrid) - Sofia, Bulgaria

Location & Work Model

• Location: Sofia, Bulgaria
• Work Model: Hybrid (a combination of in-office and remote work)
• Note: We will only consider candidates who are already residing in Bulgaria and have the necessary documents to legally work locally.
  

Core Responsibilities

As a German-Speaking Content Moderator, you will be on the front lines, acting as a gatekeeper to ensure content complies with platform policies and community standards.

• Content Review: Systematically review, analyze, and moderate a high volume of user-generated content (text, images, videos, audio, advertisements) submitted in the German language.
• Policy Enforcement: Apply and enforce complex content policies and guidelines consistently and accurately to ensure a safe online environment.
• Issue Identification & Action: Identify, classify, and take appropriate action (e.g., approve, reject, remove, or escalate) on content that violates policies, including but not limited to hate speech, misinformation, inappropriate material, and illegal content.
• Escalation: Promptly escalate complex, ambiguous, or highly sensitive cases to specialized teams (e.g., policy, legal, or security) as needed.
• Process Improvement: Provide constructive feedback and insights on content trends and policy effectiveness to contribute to the continuous improvement of moderation processes and tools.
• Accuracy & Productivity: Meet established targets for content review volume, turnaround time, and decision accuracy.
• Equipment: All necessary equipment for the job will be provided by the company.

 Working Hours

• Schedule: Full-time, Monday to Friday.
• Rotational Shifts: You must be available to work on a rotational shift pattern:
  • 09:00 – 18:00
  • 11:00 – 20:00

Essential Requirements

• Language Fluency (German): Fluent spoken and written German is a must-have. You will be working primarily with German-language content.
• Language Proficiency (English): Good working proficiency in English (minimum B2 level) is required for internal communication, training, and working with platform tools.
• Local Candidate: Must be currently located in Bulgaria and be ready to start work locally.
• Legal Documentation: Must possess one of the following valid documents:
  • Valid Residency Card (more than 1 year validity remaining)
  • EU Citizenship (or equivalent right to work)
  • Refugee Card
• Attention to Detail: Exceptional focus and meticulousness to make accurate decisions on high-volume content.
• Emotional Resilience: Ability to review and process potentially sensitive, challenging, or disturbing material objectively and professionally.

Desired Qualifications (Good to Have)

• Prior experience in content moderation, Trust & Safety, customer service, BPO, or a related field is an advantage but not mandatory. Full paid training will be provided.
• Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills.
• Cultural awareness of the political and social context of the German-speaking market.
