Internal Control Analyst – Financial Risk & Governance

Location: Porto (Hybrid)

Salary range: €25K – €32K + €12 meal allowance per day

About the Role

We are looking for an Internal Control Analyst to join an international finance oversight environment. The role focuses on strengthening financial risk management, enhancing internal control frameworks, and supporting second line of defense activities across multiple international entities.

You will work within a global finance perimeter, contributing to the deployment, optimization, and monitoring of internal control standards, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and group-level governance guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Improve the efficiency of finance activities and controls by performing check‑and‑challenge reviews, issuing recommendations, and proposing action plans.
  • Coordinate and oversee second line of defense finance teams across international markets.
  • Support the deployment and continuous update of the internal control framework for financial risk management, both centrally and internationally.
  • Conduct risk‑based reviews of finance processes to identify, assess, and follow up on financial risks.
  • Contribute to the drafting, promotion, and implementation of internal control standards and governance documentation within local finance departments.

What We're Looking For

  • Degree in Audit, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in internal controls or financial audit, ideally within financial services or insurance.
  • Strong understanding of audit methodologies and risk‑based approaches.
  • Knowledge of IFRS, management accounting, and/or Solvency II is an advantage.
  • Fluency in English and French.
