Role and Responsibilities
- Cleaning designated areas including, but not limited to: restrooms, public areas, offices, restaurant and meeting room.
- Stock and maintain supply rooms, as needed.
- Perform deep cleaning tasks and special projects (for example: furniture moves, etc.), as needed.
- Replace guest amenities and supplies in rooms.
- Replace dirty linens and terry with clean items.
- Dust, polish, and remove marks from walls and furnishings.
- Vacuum carpets and performs floor care duties.
- Respond promptly to requests from guests and other departments.
- Dispose of all waste and recycle according to the recycling program criteria.
- Performing basic maintenance task (changing bulbs, unclog toilets, and/or replace appliance) for maintain room structure.
- Performs any other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Previous janitorial and/or housekeeping experience an asset
- Proven self-motivation, ability to work well with minimum supervision
- Excellent guest service skills
- Excellent organization, time management and communication skills
- Must have a high level of attention to detail
- Work well within a diverse team environment
- Flexible availability: including evenings, early mornings, weekends and statutory holidays
- Must be able to embrace the hotels core values
- Ability to work flexible hours, including days, evenings, weekends, holidays and overnight shifts
Physical Demands
- Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours in length.
- Ability to lift and carry 0-25 pounds on a regular basis, throughout the shift.
- Must be able to push and pull carts and equipment of various sizes and weights (up to 50 lbs.), throughout the shift.
- Must be able to kneel, bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill cleaning tasks.
- Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, climbing, listening, and hearing ability and visual acuity.
