Role and Responsibilities

  • Cleaning designated areas including, but not limited to: restrooms, public areas, offices, restaurant and meeting room.
  • Stock and maintain supply rooms, as needed.
  • Perform deep cleaning tasks and special projects (for example: furniture moves, etc.), as needed.
  • Replace guest amenities and supplies in rooms.
  • Replace dirty linens and terry with clean items.
  • Dust, polish, and remove marks from walls and furnishings.
  • Vacuum carpets and performs floor care duties.
  • Respond promptly to requests from guests and other departments.
  • Dispose of all waste and recycle according to the recycling program criteria.
  • Performing basic maintenance task (changing bulbs, unclog toilets, and/or replace appliance) for maintain room structure.
  • Performs any other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • Previous janitorial and/or housekeeping experience an asset
  • Proven self-motivation, ability to work well with minimum supervision
  • Excellent guest service skills
  • Excellent organization, time management and communication skills
  • Must have a high level of attention to detail
  • Work well within a diverse team environment
  • Flexible availability: including evenings, early mornings, weekends and statutory holidays
  • Must be able to embrace the hotels core values
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including days, evenings, weekends, holidays and overnight shifts

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours in length.
  • Ability to lift and carry 0-25 pounds on a regular basis, throughout the shift.
  • Must be able to push and pull carts and equipment of various sizes and weights (up to 50 lbs.), throughout the shift.
  • Must be able to kneel, bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill cleaning tasks.
  • Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, climbing, listening, and hearing ability and visual acuity.
