Job Summary:

We are looking for a qualified Dental Autoclave Maintenance Technician to perform comprehensive preventive maintenance on autoclave sterilization units across 9 dental clinics, every 6 months. The technician will ensure each autoclave is operating at optimal efficiency, meets sterilization standards, and complies with dental health regulations. This role plays a vital part in infection control and patient safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Travel to and service 9 dental offices on a rotating biannual schedule.
  • Conduct full maintenance procedures for each dental autoclave, including:
  • Inspection and replacement of door gaskets
  • Testing and calibration of pressure and temperature sensors
  • Examination and cleaning of internal chambers, filters, and trays
  • Verification of sterilization cycles and printout logs
  • Checking and maintaining water lines and drainage systems
  • Identifying early signs of heating element or control board malfunction
  • Perform functionality and safety tests in accordance with CDC and OSHA sterilization standards.
  • Document all maintenance activities, findings, and repairs performed per office visit.
  • Provide written reports to clinic management with any recommendations for repairs or replacements.
  • Ensure all tools, parts, and documentation are managed securely and professionally during site visits.

Requirements:

  • Certification or proven experience in servicing medical or dental autoclaves (e.g., Midmark, Tuttnauer, SciCan).
  • Strong understanding of sterilization principles, infection control standards, and mechanical diagnostics.
  • Ability to travel between multiple locations with your own transport (if applicable).
  • Detail-oriented, dependable, and organized with excellent time management.
  • Ability to maintain clear documentation and communicate findings to both clinical and administrative staff.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in dental or healthcare facility maintenance.
  • Familiarity with various autoclave models and sterilization logs.
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance related to sterilization and infection control (CDC, OSHA, ADA standards).
