JOB DESCRIPTION

As the Director of Software Engineering, you will execute the company's technology strategy, while providing strong hands-on technical leadership across architecture, system design, development, and deployment.

You will lead multiple engineering domains, including IoT Technologies, Healthcare Integrations, and the Data Platform, ensuring alignment between business goals and technical execution. In this role, you will be responsible for building scalable, high-performance systems, optimizing platform reliability, and driving continuous improvements across the engineering lifecycle.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing engineering team across IoT Technologies, Healthcare Integrations, Data Platform, and Monitoring domains.
• Establish and drive an AI-first engineering mindset by continuously researching emerging AI technologies, integrating relevant innovations into the platform, and leveraging AI to optimize engineering processes and system efficiency. Provide hands-on technical leadership in system design, development, and critical problem-solving when needed.
• Actively participate in technical discussions with customers and partners, representing the engineering organization in external engagements.
• Establish and maintain high engineering standards, code quality, and best practices across teams and ensure the quality, reliability, and timely delivery of all engineering outputs.

Education

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field

SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS

• 5+ years software engineering experience, with a strong background in backend and distributed systems, IoT technology
• 4+ years of experience leading and managing engineering teams, including mentoring, technical managing, performance management, and hiring
• Proven experience in designing and delivering scalable, high-performance systems in production environments
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, microservices architecture, and event-driven design
• Experience working with real-time data processing, system integrations, and API-driven architecture
• Strong problem-solving ability, debugging mindset, and root cause analysis skills.
• Motivation for continuous self-improvement and staying up to date with new technologies.
• Nice to have: Experience in healthcare integrations (HL7, FHIR, EHR/HBYS) or Medical Device systems is a strong plus

Languages & Frameworks

• Strong proficiency and hands-on technical experience: Rust, Java, Node.js (TypeScript), Python, React
• Hands-on experience with Docker and containerization
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure
• Strong Linux knowledge and production system experience
• Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack)
