SERVICE ADVISOR (Diesel Repair)

Location: Cocoa (On-site) | Type: Full-Time

Pay: $20–$26/hour (commensurate with experience) + quarterly performance bonus

Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 9:00am–6:00pm; Friday 9:00am-5:00pm (1-hour unpaid lunch)

Position Overview

Central Florida Diesel Performance is seeking a customer-focused Service Advisor to own the customer experience from write-up to delivery. This role translates technician findings into clear recommendations, accurate estimates, and approved work through timely communication and ethical sales.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Consultation & Sales Support

  • Primary point of contact for customers throughout the service lifecycle
  • Intake/write-up: vehicle concerns, usage, priorities, and timelines
  • Explain diagnostics, repair options, timelines, and costs in customer-friendly terms
  • Present and upsell recommended services based on MPI/DVI findings and shop standards

Estimates, Approvals & Communication

  • Build and present estimates for approval; document authorizations
  • Manage change orders as additional issues are identified
  • Provide proactive updates on progress, delays, ETAs, and added recommendations

Scheduling & Coordination

  • Schedule diagnostics and repairs based on bay capacity and technician workload
  • Coordinate with the Operations Manager and technicians to keep workflow moving

Administrative & Financial

  • Accurate RO documentation (services, approvals, pricing, notes)
  • Support invoicing, job closeout, and payment processing

Required Qualifications

  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to explain technical concepts clearly and professionally
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Basic computer proficiency (email, estimates, shop systems)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior Service Advisor experience (automotive/diesel/heavy equipment)
  • Diesel familiarity strongly preferred
  • TekMetric experience is strongly preferred (or similar shop management system)
  • Comfortable presenting MPI/DVI findings and building value-based recommendations
  • Ability to speak Spanish is a plus
