About the job Accountant (P&L Report) - Project - US
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented freelance accountant to support a US-based client with a one-time project focused on preparing a Profit and Loss (P&L) report specifically covering business car usage from August 2024 to June 2025.
The accountant will be responsible for reviewing financial data related to multiple vehicles used for business purposes and producing a clear, organised P&L statement. The project also includes the creation of a reusable P&L template for similar reporting needs in the future.
MAIN TASK: Preparing a Profit and Loss (P&L) report specifically covering business car usage from August 2024 to June 2025.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and interpret financial data provided by the client
- Prepare a structured and accurate Profit and Loss (P&L) report for a
defined period
- Properly categorise revenue, cost of goods sold (COGS), and operating
expenses
- Create a professional, reusable P&L template in Excel or Google Sheets
- Provide revisions or adjustments based on client feedback if needed
- Ensure the report complies with US financial reporting standards
Qualifications:
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- At least 2 years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or financial
reporting
- Proven experience creating P&L statements (sample work may be
requested)
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and/or Google Sheets
- Familiarity with QuickBooks, Xero, or other US-based accounting software
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to meet deadlines and communicate effectively
- Prior experience working with US-based clients
- Knowledge of US GAAP and standard P&L formats for US businesses
- Comfortable working remotely and providing updates proactively
