Medical Coder (CPC)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and certified Medical Coder to join our team. The role will be responsible for reviewing clinical documentation, assigning appropriate medical codes, and ensuring accurate billing and claims processing in compliance with international standards (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS).

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and analyze patient medical records to identify relevant diagnoses and procedures.
• Assign appropriate codes (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS) based on documentation provided.
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of coded data for billing and reimbursement purposes.
• Verify and reconcile coded data against physician documentation and insurance guidelines.
• Communicate with healthcare providers for clarification of documentation when necessary.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient health information in compliance with HIPAA and company policies.
• Meet productivity and accuracy targets as defined by management.
• Stay updated with coding guidelines, payer requirements, and healthcare regulations.
  

Qualifications:

• Graduate of any medical-related course (e.g., Nursing, Medical Technology, Physical Therapy) or equivalent.
• Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), or equivalent certification is preferred.
• At least 1 to 2 years of medical coding experience (hospital, physician, or insurance setting).
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems.
• Familiarity with US healthcare system, insurance claims, and HIPAA compliance.
• Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently or in a team.
