Job Summary:
As a Tableau Developer, your role will be to design, construct, and enhance the organization's data visualization tools using
Tableau software. You'll collaborate closely with business analysts, data engineers, and data scientists to comprehend
requirements and translate them into visually pleasing dashboards and reports.
Key Responsibilities:
- Dashboard & Report Development: Design and build interactive, user-friendly Tableau dashboards and reports to present key performance indicators and insights.
- Tableau Data Modeling: Use Tableaus native features such as relationships, joins, unions, and blends to model and manage datasets effectively.
- Tableau Functionality: Demonstrate proficiency in using parameters, action filters, filter hierarchies, dynamic zone visibility, level of detail (LOD) expressions, and table calculations.
- Business Requirements Gathering: Collaborate directly with executive management to understand and refine reporting needs, translating them into impactful visual analytics.
- Analytical Insight Delivery: Use Tableau as a true analytical tool to explore, analyze, and deliver insights from healthcare and operational data.
- Performance Optimization: Ensure dashboards are performant, accurate, and optimized for usability and quick load times.
- Publishing & Access Control: Deploy dashboards on Tableau Online or Tableau Server, and manage scheduling, versioning, and user permissions.
- Documentation & Maintenance: Maintain clear documentation of dashboard logic, data sources, business requirements, and visual standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience with Tableau Desktop and/or Tableau Online.
- Strong proficiency in SQL for querying and preparing data from relational databases.
- Demonstrated experience using Tableau as an analytical tool beyond simple reporting.
- Solid understanding of data modeling within Tableau, including relationships and joins.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently on analytical tasks.
- Strong communication skills, especially in working with executive stakeholders.
Preferred Skills:
- Tableau certification such as Tableau Desktop Specialist or Tableau Data Analyst.
- Experience working with healthcare data or within the healthcare industry.
- Familiarity with Tableau Prep or similar data prep tools.
- Exposure to scripting languages (Python, R) or other BI tools (e.g., Power BI) is a plus.
