Our client is a fast-growing Electronic Money Institution (EMI) headquartered in Vilnius, with German roots, serving international clients with payment and financial services since 2020. They operate in a higher-risk (no crypto) and high-impact environment.

We are looking for a hands-on Payments Operations Specialist to join the Finance team and take ownership of daily payment operations, reconciliations, and issue resolution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform daily reconciliations and safeguarding-related activities in line with internal controls and regulatory expectations
  • Monitor and ensure timely processing of SEPA, SEPA Instant, and cross-border payments within cut-off times
  • Oversee payment status and take action to prevent delays or failures
  • Identify, investigate, and resolve failed, delayed, rejected, or returned payments
  • Handle escalations from internal teams and partners in a timely and structured manner
  • Support other teams with payment-related queries (delays, rejections, recalls, and debt management)
  • Provide accurate transaction reports, account statements, and payment data upon request
  • Support the Finance team in designing and developing reconciliation and monitoring tools
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of payment workflows and operational efficiency
  • Act as backup for FinOps and broader operations when needed
  • Take on ad-hoc operational tasks; this is a role for someone who embraces variety

About You

  • 1–2 years of experience in a similar role within an EMI, crypto platform, or comparable fintech environment
  • Hands-on mindset, you own tasks end-to-end and don't wait to be told twice
  • Solid understanding of payment flows: SEPA, SEPA Instant, cross-border transactions
  • Comfortable working at the intersection of Finance and Operations, you don't need to be an accountant, but you should understand how money moves
  • Analytical and detail-oriented, you notice discrepancies and act on them
  • Strong communicator, able to coordinate with multiple teams clearly and efficiently
  • Fluent in English; Lithuanian is a plus
