Intrepid College Prep is a network of free, college preparatory public charter schools located in the Antioch area of Greater Nashville, Tennessee. We educate scholars at two campusesOpportunity Academy Middle School and Independence Academy High School. Our 512 model ensures that scholars have access to a rigorous education for eight years prior to their transition to college and future professional opportunities. We are an open-enrollment school, meaning that scholars do not have to take an entrance exam or pay tuition to enroll.

The Opportunity
Intrepid College Prep is seeking a strategic, experienced, and mission-driven Assistant Principal of Operations (APO) to lead and strengthen the operational systems that allow instruction to thrive. The APO serves as a key member of the school leadership team and is responsible for all non-instructional functions of the school. In addition to overseeing school-wide operations, the APO will lead student recruitment and enrollment strategy and manage the Dean of Operations.
This is a high-impact leadership role for someone who thrives on building systems, managing people, and ensuring that daily school life runs smoothly and efficiently so that every student can succeed.
Responsibilities
Student Recruitment & Enrollment
- Lead the creation and execution of student recruitment strategy in collaboration with school leadership
- Manage enrollment targets, application tracking, and waitlist processes in alignment with authorizer requirements
- Build strong partnerships with feeder schools, community organizations, and families to grow awareness of and enrollment in Intrepid
- Ensure all new families are welcomed, onboarded, and supported through orientation and initial school transition
- Monitor enrollment data and trends; use insights to drive recruitment actions and inform decision-making
Budget & Finance
- Partner with the school principal and network finance staff to develop and manage the schools budget
- Maintain accurate records of financial transactions; participate in monthly budget reviews
- Manage purchasing, inventory, and vendor coordination
- Ensure alignment with fiscal policies and compliance with audit requirements
School Operations
- Prepare the campus annually for start-up, including procurement, facilities readiness, and vendor setup
- Oversee food service and student transportation logistics
- Manage certifications, employee records, and HR compliance in partnership with network staff
- Ensure facilities are safe, clean, and fully functional through vendor and custodial oversight
School Administration
- Oversee state/local compliance and reporting requirements
- Support execution of key school events such as Report Card Night, testing, and graduation
- Ensure timely production of student report cards and progress reports
- Maintain accurate student records and support testing administration
Management & Leadership
- Directly supervise the Dean of Operations and other operations staff
- Serve as a thought partner to the Principal and collaborate with the broader leadership team
- Model professional values aligned with Intrepids core beliefs; build strong cross-functional relationships
- Contribute to campus-wide leadership decisions and culture-building efforts
What You Bring

- Minimum 3 years of operations management experience, preferably in a fast-paced educational or nonprofit setting
- Experience managing people, budgets, and school systems
- Comfort with both the big picture and day-to-day logistics
- Strategic thinker with high attention to detail and follow-through
- Flexible, solutions-oriented, and self-starting
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred
Compensation & Benefits
We offer a generous compensation package, including full health benefits. All staff members are equipped with the tools needed to succeed, including a dedicated workspace, laptop, and necessary supplies. The salary for this role starts at $77,117 and is commensurate with experience. Salary placement is non-negotiable and based solely on relevant experience, in line with our equity-based compensation approach.
