Finance & Compliance Associate - Private Equity
Job Description:
We are exclusively seeking an exceptional Finance & Compliance Associate for the Singapore office of a fast-growing international private equity investment firm.
Key Responsibilities:
Finance & Reporting
- Assist in the preparation of fund and management company financial statements in accordance with relevant accounting standards.
- Liaise with external auditors and tax agents to ensure timely audit and tax submissions.
- Support the preparation of investor reporting packages and capital account statements.
- Maintain accurate books and records for multiple legal entities and investment vehicles.
- Reconcile bank statements and investment cash flows across entities.
Compliance & Regulatory
- Monitor and ensure ongoing compliance with MAS regulatory requirements for Licensed Fund Management Companies (LFMC).
- Assist in the preparation and submission of MAS regulatory filings
- Maintain internal compliance registers (e.g., AML/KYC, PEP, breaches and complaints logs).
- Conduct periodic reviews of internal policies and procedures and support the enhancement of the compliance framework.
Operational Support
- Work closely with investment and fund admin to onboard new investors and conduct KYC/AML due diligence.
- Support fund structuring, SPV set-ups, and liaise with corporate secretaries.
- Participate in the implementation of internal controls and operational efficiencies.
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- At least 3 years of experience in a Big 4 audit or advisory firm, specifically auditing or advising asset managers, hedge funds, or private equity firms.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of MAS regulatory requirements applicable to fund management companies in Singapore (e.g., SFA, FAA, AML/CFT guidelines).
- Experience liaising with MAS or preparing compliance submissions is a strong plus.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- High integrity, with a proactive and solutions-oriented mindset.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Advantageous Qualifications/ Experience
- CA/CPA or equivalent professional qualification.
- Experience with fund administration, financial modelling, or corporate governance is advantageous.
- Exposure to the operations of a LFMC.
