About the role

We are looking for a commercially aware and highly organised Assistant Buyer to join our Buying team at Chelsea Peers.

Working across multi-category product ranges you will support the buying process from initial concept through to product launch. This role is ideal for someone with previous buying or product development experience who is ready to take the next step in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, where accuracy, organisation, and a proactive approach are key.

Key responsibilities

Range Development & Planning

  • Assist the Buyer in creating seasonal product ranges in line with brand strategy and sales targets.
  • Support with option counts, category mix, and pricing architecture.
  • Undertake market research and competitor analysis to identify trends and opportunities, product developing directly with our factories.

Supplier Management

  • Liaise with suppliers to confirm cost prices, lead times, and order details.
  • Support negotiations to ensure products meet quality, margin, and delivery requirements.
  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships.

Product & Critical Path Management

  • Control the buying critical path, ensuring all key dates are met.
  • Support in raising orders, updating systems, and monitoring progress through to delivery.
  • Manage product approvals, fit sessions, and sample management.

Cross-Team Collaboration

  • Work closely with the cross functional teams to ensure ranges are cohesive, accurate, and launch-ready.
  • Provide relevant product information to Wholesale, Marketing and eCommerce teams to support launch campaigns.

Skills & experience

  • Previous experience as a Senior Buyers admin Assistant or Assistant Buyer in fashion, accessories or home lifestyle products.
  • Confident communicator with the ability to work effectively across teams and with suppliers.
  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Confident communicator with good negotiation skills.
  • Commercial awareness and understanding of sales and margin targets.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities.
  • An interest in fashion and product is essential.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel

The practical details

  • You must have the legal right to work in the UK.
  • This role is based in Chiswick, West London 5 days in the office during probation, then hybrid working thereafter.
