We are seeking a highly detail-oriented Cook to join our culinary team at Cooney Hospitality Group Inc. This role is vital in ensuring that every plate served meets our exceptional quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare and cook menu items with precision, following recipes and presentation guidelines to deliver consistent, high-quality dishes.
  2. Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen environment by adhering to strict hygiene practices and regularly cleaning workstations, equipment, and utensils.
  3. Ensure all ingredients are properly stored, labeled, and rotated according to food safety standards to prevent contamination and spoilage.
  4. Inspect and prepare ingredients with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring freshness, quality, and correct portion sizes before use.
  5. Monitor cooking times and temperatures closely to ensure that all dishes are cooked to perfection, following established culinary standards.
  6. Work collaboratively with the entire service team to ensure smooth and efficient operations during service, including coordinating with servers and other cooks.
  7. Adhere to portion control standards and minimize waste by accurately measuring and preparing ingredients.
  8. Continuously strive for excellence by staying updated on industry trends, refining culinary skills, and seeking opportunities for improvement.
  9. Follow all health and safety regulations, including proper handling and storage of food, use of kitchen equipment, and personal protective gear.
  10. Maintain high standards of presentation, ensuring that every dish leaving the kitchen is visually appealing and meets the restaurant's quality expectations.

Qualifications:

  • Food Handler Certification or Food Manager Certification is a plus.  
  • Prior kitchen experience is preferred
  • Understanding of food safety and sanitation practices, with a commitment to maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
  • Ability to follow recipes precisely and consistently reproduce dishes.
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment without compromising quality.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
  • High level of integrity, with a focus on delivering excellence in every aspect of the cooking process.
  • Willingness to take initiative and proactively contribute to the improvement of kitchen operations and overall guest experience.
