Automation Engineer

The Role:

An exciting opportunity has arisen with a worldwide market leading multinational engineering company working with clients in the automotive, aerospace, renewable, scientific, pharmaceutical, electronics, oil and gas and food processing industries they are recruiting an Automation Engineer or Automation and Control Engineer with experience in setting-up and programming PLCs to provide product support to their European parts of the business.

Location: Milton Keynes

Salary: £29,000 - £,48,000 (depending on experience), superb career and technical progression available, Bonus Scheme, Annual Bonus, Excellent Pension, Life Insurance, Private Healthcare Cover, 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays), buys and sell holiday scheme, free hot lunches in restaurant and sports and social club. 

We are looking for an Engineer with experience with some of the major industrial communication protocols is required, including PROFINET, EtherCAT, Ethernet/IP and IO-Link. 

The role requires supporting our electrical products by answering technical questions, providing assistance for specific customer applications and performing fault investigations. The successful candidate will also be required to design and deliver training courses/presentations to European subsidiaries, create operation manuals and technical guides, as well as carrying out investigations and tests to evaluate the company's products.

To be successful in this role, you must have:

• A Degree or HND Qualification - Electrical, Electronics, Software or Electromechanical Engineering
• Minimum 1 year relevant work experience
• Knowledge of PLCs and Ladder or Structured Text programming language
• Strong verbal and written communication skills as you will be required to write detailed, technical reports and product documentation
• The ability to occasionally travel to Europe
