We are looking to recruit a bright graduate for the role of Software Engineer. This will involve working in a relatively small but extremely highly-talented team of software engineers located in Oxford City.
We are seeking people who aspire to work at the very highest standards of software development who have a broad understanding of the principles of software engineering and software design patterns.
We are migrating the existing platform from WPF UI, C++ servers to C# .NET Core servers and React/Redux/Typescript/Electron Web front end technologies, communicating with Event Store event streams and SQL Server databases.
Candidates must be interested in seeing through the complete life cycle of a project from specification and design to implementation.
Strong interpersonal skills are essential. The ability to work co-operatively within a team is essential as there is a strong emphasis on mutual code review and testing.
Responsibilities:
• Integrating the system to new strategic systems being developed within the organization
• Development of new software components
• Full lifecycle of development:
• discussion with users
• producing specifications and prototype designs
• writing new software
• unit testing
• integration into end-to-end test suite
• documenting
• assisting the support team in training users
• handling support and feedback
Skills Requirements
• Strong team working skills
• Strong mathematics qualifications and experience is essential
• A minimum of 6 months experience (url removed) development
• Experience of Typescript, Javascript, React or Redux programming would advantageous
• A natural aptitude for software engineering, business analysis and problem solving
Academic Requirements
• Must have A Level Maths: minimum A grade
• Must have attended a British University at undergraduate level for a minimum of 3 years
• Must have either:
BSc or MMath Maths: minimum 1st Class honours, or PhD Physics
Other Requirements
• Must be prepared to live locally within a reasonably short commuting distance
