Job brief

We are seeking Civil Engineers with 1 to 4 years of experience to be part of our Transportation Business Practice. The Practice encompasses work in the planning and design of transportation projects statewide for the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), regional organizations such as the Alamo Area Regional Mobility Authority, and with county and local governments.

This position can be based out of our Austin, San Antonio, or Houston office.

The primary responsibilities for this position include:

  • Under general direction, perform civil engineering design and analysis on transportation planning and design projects.
  • Working under the supervision of a Professional Engineer and work with other technical staff to produce quality designs and plans and interpreting plans from other engineering related disciplines (survey, utility, etc.).
  • Performing specific or broad assignment tasks, assisting with planning, budgeting, and schedule tracking.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
  • 1 to 4 years of experience in in engineering design and plan production
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) or Engineer Intern (EI) Certification or ability to obtain certification within six months
  • Ability to work independently at times and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

In addition, the successful candidate is highly motivated and will take initiative, be able to use resources efficiently and effectively, be able to work well with a team of engineers and technicians and is dedicated to providing excellent client service.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams
  • Experience Bentley Systems software, including MicroStation and or GeoPak Select Series 4 (SS4) or OpenRoads Designer (ORD)
  • TxDOT or municipal design experience
