Job brief
The Station Manager is responsible for the planning, organizing, direction, control, and evaluation of the service station and its staff, such as the Sr. Store Lead/ Store Lead, Customer Service Cashiers, Customer Service Attendants, Merchandisers, and Food Handlers. The Station Manager leads the Retail Station Group to ensure that all transactions are completed promptly and correctly, all sales are completed competently, and that cash control, security and till balancing during each shift is properly accounted for. The Station Manager ensures excellent standards of housekeeping, cleanliness, and quality of products are maintained at the station, and at the same time, ensures all tasks are completed to the Companys stated Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE) policies and guidelines.
Responsibilities
The Employee will:
Ensure that each guest receives outstanding guest service by providing a guest friendly environment which includes greeting and acknowledging every guest, maintaining outstanding standards, solid product knowledge and all other components of guest service.
Analyze and measure business trends; develop and implement plans to maximize sales and meet or exceed goals and objectives.
Ensure appropriate merchandise stock levels, merchandise adjacencies and presentations; signing, and assortment in all departments; ensure selling floor is adequately stocked.
Review department/store trends and recommend and initiate changes for maximizing goals and objectives.
Ensure compliance with all policies and procedures through regular store management and staff meetings, store walk-through and audits, etc.
Ensure compliance with all cash handling policies and procedures
Continually evaluate and react to performance issues and actively recruit management candidates.
Train and develop store management in all aspects of the business; direct and monitor training and development for all store personnel.
Direct and coordinate activities involving sales of manufactured products, services, commodities, other subjects of sale.
Resolve customer complaints regarding sales and service.
Review operational records and reports to project sales and determine profitability.
Monitor customer preferences to determine focus of sales efforts.
Plan and direct staffing, training, and performance evaluations to develop and control sales and service programs.
Direct, coordinate, and review activities in sales and service accounting and record keeping, and in receiving and shipping operations.
Demonstrate, role model and drive uncompromising HSSE behaviors
Leads station compliance with HSSE (Health, Safety, Security and Environment) and Food Safety standards
Respond to site emergencies and participate in mandatory training, drills and exercises.
Sponsor and promote robust development plans for all staff in the organization
Drive business and organizational processes, including implementation of marketing activities and investments in Retail network. Requires close co-ordination and interface with Retail Network, Retail Marketing and others within the Retail business
Manage the budgets and costs (Capex and OPEX)
Identify and implement opportunities to minimize credit risk exposure
Set stretch performance targets guide team towards developing actions to improve business performance
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills
High school diploma or equivalent
5 or more years of petroleum retail experience
2 years of coaching and managing a team
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills
Bachelors Degree in Business Administration or related field
5 years of managing a team of 20-60
