About the job Sales Engineer

The primary responsibility of a Sales Engineer is to support the Enterprise Sales Account Managers in solution selling to prospects, executing strategic deals, modeling financial business cases, and matching customer requirements to proposed solutions. Other responsibilities include managing technical aspects of RFP/RFI responses, communicating client needs to Business Development and R&D teams, collecting competitive intelligence and assisting with closing sales where technical expertise may be required to fit clients' needs. The Sales Engineer shall contribute to new customer acquisition, customer satisfaction, and overall sales team success.

Responsibilities

The employee will:

  • Know and uphold established IT&E Mission, policies and procedures, Department and Division objectives, quality assurance and safety programs and standards.
  • Collaborate with sales teams to understand customer requirements and provide sales support.
  • Partner with account managers to plan, prepare and execute strategic deals in complex sales cycles.
  • Research, develop, and modify products to meet customers' technical requirements and needs.
  • Assist customers who have problems with installed products and recommend improved or upgraded materials and machinery.
  • Identify areas for improvement and communicating these issues as well as possible solutions to upper management.
  • Train other members of the sales team on the technical aspects of the company's products and services.
  • Create and deliver powerful presentations and demos that clearly communicate the uniqueness of the value proposition.
  • Prepare and develop technical presentations to explain the company's products or services to customers.
  • Manage all technical aspects of RFP / RFI responses.
  • Effectively communicate client needs to the Business Development and R&D teams for future product enhancements.
  • Support and conceive new service opportunities that exceed those currently offered by other providers.
  • Solicit and log client feedback and evaluate the data to create new sales and marketing strategies to target customers.
  • Collect and document competitive intelligence.
  • Participate in developing the strategy and initiatives for the sales team and assist with driving development and execution.
  • Execute given assignments in a self-directed manner, anticipate issues, and modify procedures as necessary.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in IT or Engineering or eight years of direct relevant technical experience.
  • 8+ years of experience in information technology or telecommunications
  • 5+ years of customer-facing professional services or IT consulting experience or a proven track record selling complex enterprise solutions.

The physical activity of this position includes climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.

Climbing towers of up to 260 feet is required.

The physical requirements of this position involve light work, exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally; up to 10 pounds of force frequently; a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.

For visual acuity requirements including color, depth perception and field of vision, the worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; viewing a computer terminal; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines; using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes.

Working Conditions

In this role, the worker is subject to the following conditions: Inside environmental conditions and outside environmental conditions. Noise that may cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above the ambient noise level. Exposure to oscillating movements (vibration) of the extremities or whole body Subject to hazards, which includes a variety of work conditions such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals. Required to function in narrow aisles or passageways. Required to climb towers of up to 260 feet.

About IT&E

Formerly Micronesian Telecommunications Corp, IT&E was a part of Verizon International. CITADEL acquired IT&E in 2005 after successfully navigating the US CIFUS process and the Federal Communications Commission.
