The Head of Sportsbook Development is responsible for driving the strategic growth, innovation, and optimization of the sportsbook department. This role focuses on product development, player experience, profitability, and long-term business performance.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Product & Market Development
- Define and execute the sportsbook product strategy.
- Identify new market opportunities and expand betting offerings.
- Collaborate with providers and internal teams to introduce innovative features.
- Oversee development and optimization of proprietary tools and functionalities.
2. Player Experience & Engagement
- Design and enhance the end-to-end user experience across all platforms.
- Implement personalization strategies to improve engagement.
- Analyze player behavior to optimize the sportsbook journey.
3. Promotions & Retention Strategy
- Work closely with CRM and marketing teams to develop targeted campaigns.
- Drive player acquisition, retention, and reactivation initiatives.
- Evaluate campaign performance and optimize based on data insights.
4. Data, Analytics & Profitability
Own key performance metrics such as GGR, margin, and player LTV.
Use analytics to drive decision-making and improve profitability.
Identify trends and implement strategies to maximize revenue.
5. Risk Strategy & Governance
Collaborate with risk teams to manage liability and exposure.
Develop frameworks to balance competitiveness and profitability.
Ensure strategic alignment with compliance and regulatory standards.
6. Department Development & Leadership
Build and evolve the sportsbook department structure.
Define processes, tools, and best practices for scalability.
Work closely with leadership on long-term vision and growth plans.
7. Reporting & Strategic Insights
Deliver high-level performance reports to senior stakeholders.
Translate data into actionable strategic initiatives.
Continuously identify opportunities for innovation and growth.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in sportsbook, iGaming, or product management.
- Strong expertise in sportsbook strategy, odds, and market trends.
- Proven track record in product development and innovation.
- Advanced analytical and strategic thinking skills.
- Experience working cross-functionally with marketing, CRM, and tech teams.
- English language proficiency at B2 level or higher, both written and spoken.
