Senior Project Designer - Architecture - Transit/Aviation

A global architecture and engineering firm is seeking a Senior Designer to join its transportation studio in Toronto. The team delivers complex aviation, transit, and multimodal infrastructure projects, working with both public and private sector clients to develop efficient and future-focused transportation facilities.
This role is suited to an experienced architectural designer who is passionate about large-scale infrastructure and transportation design. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with architects, engineers, and project teams to develop strong design solutions that respond to project context, technical requirements, and client goals.
The Senior Designer will contribute across all phases of the project cycle, supporting design development, coordination with consultants, and the production of high-quality documentation and presentations.
Key Responsibilities

Develop architectural design solutions for transportation infrastructure projects

Compile and analyze project data to understand project requirements and constraints

Collaborate with architects, engineers, and consultants to coordinate design intent

Integrate engineering requirements, site conditions, and code compliance into design solutions

Prepare design drawings, reports, and models in accordance with office standards

Conduct site visits and field reviews to monitor construction progress and ensure compliance with design documentation

Review shop drawings and project deliverables to ensure alignment with project requirements and quality standards
Qualifications

Degree in Architecture or a related discipline

10+ years of professional design experience

Experience working across all phases of architectural projects

Strong proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite

Familiarity with MEP and structural building systems and applicable building codes

Experience with transportation infrastructure projects, including aviation or transit facilities, is considered an asset

Experience working with public agencies or transportation authorities is beneficial

Registration with a professional architectural association is considered an asset
