Project Manager — General Contractor (ICI Construction)
Location: Toronto, ON (Projects across the GTA)

Overview
Our client, a well-established general contractor specializing in complex ICI construction, is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead projects across the Greater Toronto Area. The firm delivers work across Healthcare + Life Sciences, Commercial + Industrial, Education + Institutional, Government + Community facilities, Building Additions, and Building System Retrofits. This role requires a strong leader with proven general contractor experience managing multiple stakeholders, budgets, schedules, and site teams from preconstruction through closeout.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead full project lifecycle from preconstruction, procurement, and planning through construction, commissioning, and closeout

  • Manage project budgets, schedules, risk, and overall financial performance

  • Coordinate consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal site teams to ensure project delivery

  • Oversee contract administration, change management, RFIs, and project documentation

  • Maintain strong client relationships and act as the primary point of contact throughout project delivery

  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, regulatory requirements, and quality control processes

  • Support business development efforts, including participation in proposals and client presentations

  • Collaborate with senior leadership to resolve project challenges and drive continuous improvement

  • Mentor junior project staff and support team development

Required Qualifications

  • 8–10+ years of project management experience with a General Contractor in the ICI construction sector

  • Demonstrated experience managing full cycle projects (ground up) in one or more of the following sectors: Healthcare + Life Sciences, Commercial + Industrial, Education + Institutional, Government + Community, Building Additions, and Building System Retrofits

  • Strong understanding of construction processes, scheduling, cost control, and contract administration

  • Experience managing multiple projects and working with multidisciplinary teams

  • Knowledge of Ontario building codes, safety standards, and local construction practices

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills

  • Proficiency with project management software and standard construction documentation processes

Preferred Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline

  • Gold Seal Certification, PMP, or equivalent considered an asset

  • Experience delivering complex renovation or retrofit projects within occupied environments

  • Established subcontractor and consultant network within the GTA

Work Environment

  • Based in Toronto with travel to project sites across the GTA
