Job Title: Relief Security Officer (Zero-Hour Contract)
Location: Various sites in the Kent area and surrounding areas
Pay Rate: £12.21 per hours

Shift Pattern: Flexible Days, Nights, and Weekends

Duties 

  • Patrolling: Conduct regular internal and external patrols to ensure the safety and security of the premises.
  • Reception Duties: Manage front-of-house responsibilities, greeting visitors, handling inquiries, and maintaining a professional and welcoming environment.
  • Client Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact for client communications, ensuring their needs and concerns are addressed promptly and effectively.
  • Gatehouse Operations: Monitor and control access to the premises from the gatehouse, ensuring only authorized personnel are permitted entry.
  • CCTV Monitoring: Operate and monitor closed-circuit television systems to identify and respond to security breaches or suspicious activity.
  • Incident Reporting: Accurately document and report any incidents, breaches, or hazards following established protocols.
  • IT Systems Use: Utilize internal IT systems for logging incidents, access control, and daily reporting.
  • Front of House Presence: Maintain a visible, professional presence to deter unauthorized access and assist guests and staff as needed.
  • Access Control: Enforce access policies, issue visitor passes, and ensure secure entry to restricted areas.
  • Key Management: Maintain secure control and logging of keys issued and returned in accordance with company policy.
  • Customer Service: Deliver high-quality service to clients, staff, and visitors, ensuring a safe and helpful environment.
  • Physical Security (Coal Authority Weekends & School Holidays): Provide on-site security services during specific periods, maintaining vigilance and responding to any security issues as they arise.
  • Communication: Maintain clear and professional communication with team members, clients, and emergency services when necessary.
  • Essential Requirements

    • Valid SIA Door Supervisor Licence (SIA DS)

    • Full UK clean driving licence and access to a vehicle

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

    • Proficient in Microsoft Office and general PC use

    • Ability to remain calm and act decisively in difficult situations

    • Smart and professional appearance with a client-focused attitude

    • A strong work ethic with a proactive, problem-solving mindset
