HR Assistant
Location: Peterborough (Office-based initially, Hybrid Working potentially available after training)
Salary: £28,000 per annum
Hours: Monday to Friday | 08:30 to 17:00 (40 hours per week)
City Group Recruitment are delighted to be partnering with a well-established and respected organisation within the Security Industry to recruit an enthusiastic and proactive HR Assistant to join their current established HR team.

About the Role:
As the HR Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting managers and colleagues with all aspects of HR from onboarding and compliance to employee relations and administration.
You will act as the first point of contact for HR-related queries, ensuring professionalism, accuracy, and a high level of customer service.
This is a varied, hands-on role that offers exposure across the full HR function ideal for someone who is passionate about people and looking to take the next step in their HR journey.
Key Responsibilities:
- Be the first point of contact for managers with HR queries
- Offer HR Expertise to site colleagues and managers as necessary
- Provide administrative support to the HR team
- Vetting and onboarding new employees onto HR systems
- Maintain records, files and spreadsheets in line with data protection legislation
- Keep ad-hoc analysis and reporting on HR issues up to date
- Completing weekly HR audit checks including compliance to RTW and SIA legislations
- Become a subject matter expert on company HR policies, ensuring the site remains fully compliant at all times.
- Support, coach and challenge line management with absence, disciplinary and grievance issues
- Develop engaging, proactive communications across the site
- Build positive and effective relationships with managers, colleagues and stakeholders
- Monitor sickness levels and complete LTS welfare calls
- Order, monitor and issue uniforms and ID cards.
- Adhoc HR activities as required by HR Director
Skills and Experience:
- The ability to work in a fast-paced People environment (security industry experience would be good, but isn't essential)
- A proactive, positive approach to work with a true customer focus
- The ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines
- Experience in conducting investigations, disciplinary's, and/or other HR processes
- Excellent all-round IT skills
- Great attention to detail
- Experience of advising and supporting colleagues and managers with investigation and disciplinary processes
- An understanding of HR policies and practices
- Proactive approach to own continuous development
- Experience of implementing processes
- The ability to act on own initiative
- CIPD level 3 advantageous but not essential
