Background:
One of our construction partners in the US is looking for a Bookkeeper. You will collaborate directly with the owner of the company and their internal staff.
As an Accountant, you will be required to operate in a number of different capacities. You will manage mostly business-related tasks for your client such as maintaining key accounting records, ledgers, recording transactions, and posting to various accounts.
To do this role properly you should have good English, a warm and friendly personality, a detailed understanding of the full Microsoft Office suite and Google Suite, and be fast at solving problems. It's helpful that you are also excellent in task management, time management, and overall accountability.
Main Roles:
Set up and manage budgets with the CRM
Adjust budgets based on change orders
Record contracts
Coordinate and categorize expenses
Reconciliation and management of Quickbooks
Schedule:
Must feel comfortable working US business hours (CST)
Responsibilities:
Maintaining accounts

Set-up and manage the construction budget in our construction management software
Prepare regular reporting in both the budgeting software and our accounting software
Create regular reports on the budget, including spending, balances remaining, accounts payable, and outstanding bills
Support the construction manager/superintendent with any questions about budgets and outstanding payments to contractors
Prepare a monthly balance sheet and P/L within quickbooks, reconcile bank accounts within quickbooks
Prepare reporting for the operations manager for bank draws against construction loans
Ensure adherence to our contractor set-up and payment process and pay bills and invoices from subcontractors
Each subcontractor must provide us with a (1) W9, (2) driver's license photo, (3) executed contract/SOW, (4) signed & notarized lien release, (5) written approval of work from construction manager prior to being paid -- this person must ensure that these documents are collected and stored in our construction software before releasing payment.
We will provide an email, google number for calls and texts so that it is easy for this person to collect these documents and communicate with construction managers and subcontractors. Bonus if this person can notarize the lien release.
Check that the invoice amount matches the payment schedule on the contract. If there are any questions or discrepancies, this person should work with the construction manager to resolve.
Once proper documentation has been received, send a check to the subcontractor. We have software that would allow this person to cut and mail a check online (i.e. they don't have to physically mail a check from the Philippines
Requirements:
A minimum of 2-3 years as a bookkeeper or accountant
Bachelor Degree holder in finance, accounting, or similar field
Knowledge of Quickbooks
Knowledge of US Taxation with tax experience
Excellent English language skills (written and speaking)
Good time management and task management skills
Noticeable organizational and prioritization skills
Ability to work independently and meticulously
Proficiency in MS Office and Google Suite
Able to demonstrate initiative
