Responsibilities:
- The Senior Network Engineer will be responsible for working on client's networks , supporting implementations of security solutions, and providing remote operational support for House of ITs Managed Services customers. The Network Engineer also plays a key role in the daily processing of Change Requests, Incident Handling and Investigations for network systems, and other responsibilities as assigned.
- Analyze firewall policies and configurations; identify/implement needed firewall policy changes.
- Review aged firewall rules and act based on business needs. Ensure compliance with departmental and security configuration standards.
- Create and/or maintain standards documentation, design documentation/templates/topology diagrams and workflow documents.
Provide direct support of audit and ad-hoc consulting engagements.
- Lead implementation projects to ensure successful delivery of security services.
- Conduct cloud technical implementations and/or attend remote customer meetings, as required.
- Research, design, and oversee implementation of cloud technology, systems, and policies for information security in support of business needs and requirements.
- Perform resolution of security related Work Orders, Change Requests and Incidents as well as participating in root cause analysis and/or major incident/problem management conference calls
- Occasionally provide security architecture recommendations and consulting for pre and post-sales support of customer environments.
- Primary responsibilities include performing project-based engineering, design, installation and troubleshooting of network solutions.
- Provide technical leadership on complex projects requiring teams of engineers.
- Develop comprehensive graphical and text-based design documentation, and effectively manage the implementation process from design to customer acceptance.
- Assist with creating SOPs, and other relevant information to assist other Engineering team members and Operations with log management and other monitoring analysis activities.
- Assist with the design, and implementation of interconnectivity of IaaS infrastructures whether from Public Cloud providers such as AWS or MS Azure, or Private Cloud implementations.
Requirements:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science or Information Technology (IT).
- Extensive knowledge and experience with Fortinet FortiGate & Sophos XG Firewalls.
- Extensive knowledge and experience with Cisco managed switches and switching/routing concepts
Hold a valid/current Fortinet NSE4 or higher certification.
Hold a valid/current Cisco CCNA or higher certification.
- Demonstrates thorough understanding of networking concepts and systems including routing protocols (RIP, OSPF, IGRP, EIGRP, BGP), switching protocols (STP), WAN/LAN, WLANs, MPLS, OSI Model.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve network issues as they arise across various corporate and remote site environments.
- 5+ years experience in the Information Technology industry with at least 3 years experience as a network engineer in a corporate environment supporting Global clients.
