Quick Rundown:

The Business Systems Analyst II is responsible for developing, coordinating, implementing, and maintaining the organization’s Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) systems. This role ensures the accuracy, reliability, and efficiency of EDI transactions and integrations, including development, change requests, and enterprise-level projects. The EDI Analyst serves as a liaison between business users, trading partners, and IT to support EDI-based applications and integrations.

What You’ll Do:

  • Strategy & Planning
    • Participates in the design, review, and implementation of new EDI applications and integration strategies.

    • Coordinates with infrastructure, business applications, and database teams to ensure the availability, reliability, and scalability of EDI systems.

    • Establishes and maintains policies, procedures, and technologies to ensure the security and integrity of EDI systems.

  • Operational Management
    • Sets up new EDI trading partnerships and VAN communications; coordinates setup processes and serves as liaison between internal and external partners.

    • Supports all EDI functions, documents, and protocols.

    • Conducts testing and configuration verification for new and existing trading partners.

    • Defines and performs EDI system backup and recovery procedures.

    • Monitors and tests system performance and generates performance statistics and reports.

    • Troubleshoots EDI errors and performs testing, enhancements, and corrections.

    • Integrates EDI systems with enterprise platforms such as Transportation Management Systems (TMS), Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.

    • Provides technical support for day-to-day EDI processing, mapping, and data-related issues.

    • Monitors inbound and outbound documents, transmissions, error reports, and daily logs.

    • Maintains accurate and up-to-date EDI documentation, including mapping specifications, process flows, and partner setup information.

    • Evaluates and implements EDI tools or upgrades to improve system efficiency and reliability.

    • Analyzes EDI transaction data to identify trends, recurring issues, or opportunities for process improvement.

    • Responds to EDI helpdesk tickets in a timely manner and ensures resolution of issues.


What We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field

  • Minimum of 2-4 years of experience working with EDI systems, preferably in a manufacturing or distribution environment

  • EDI platforms and tools (Cleo preferred)

  • EDI Management within Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Transportation Management Systems (TMS), and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) environments

  • AS/400 or IBM iSeries systems

  • Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate technical information in business-friendly terms

  • Possesses keen attention to detail and strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Prioritizes and executes tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment

  • Maintains a customer-focused approach with a strong commitment to service delivery

  • Works collaboratively in a team-oriented environment

  • Ability to withstand prolonged periods sitting at a desk

  • Frequent use of upper extremities to perform keyboard functions and work on a computer

  • Ability to occasionally stand/walk
