Environmental Consultant / Environmental Advisor

  • Location: East Scotland - Central Belt / Peterhead (flexible depending on your location) 
  • Consultant - £30,000-£40,000
  • Senior - £40,000-£50,000
  • Principal - £50,000 - £60,000

Remote / Site based for major energy transition projects in the East of Scotland.

Our client are a specialist consultancy providing environmental services to the construction industry.

We are seeking an Environmental Consultant for a people-focused and innovative consultancy providing excellence to the renewable energy sector and beyond.

You will receive guidance and technical support with specific training and mentoring combined with work ownership on site coupled with a generous salary and benefits package.

The Role Environmental Advisor Construction

  • Project management and onsite construction phase support
  • Support clients in the post planning consent and construction phases
  • Influence design, develop and review environmental management project documents
  • Provide site based environmental management, advisory services & site based environmental assurance support.
  • Weekly site visits required

Key Attributes Required

  • Practitioner Institute of Sustainability and Environmental Professionals (formally IEMA) or equivalent
  • 3 > years relevant industry experience demonstrably predominantly construction phase environmental services 
  • An understanding of environmental management process during construction, EIA / Consent - Discharge of Conditions -  Contractual obligations - Onsite delivery
  • An understanding of construction process, contractual awareness, and CDM duty holder responsibilities / Environmental roles and responsibilities.
  • Driving licence / CSCS card
  • The desire to drive change within the sector and uphold standards and values
  • Demonstrable resilience and team ethic
  • Willingness to travel / flexibility 

Desirable Attributes

  • Environmental degree
  • Incident investigation (e.g. Kelvin Top- Set 1 day course)
  • Technical specialism (e.g. ecology, surface water management, waste and materials management)
  • Experience in linear construction projects
