We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Environment Manager to join our reputable client in Cambridgeshire, United Kingdom.
As an Environment Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all environmental aspects of our major energy transition projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement environmental management plans for major energy transition projects, ensuring compliance with local and national regulations.
- Conduct environmental impact assessments and identify potential risks and mitigation measures.
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure that environmental considerations are integrated into project planning and decision-making processes.
- Monitor and track environmental performance of projects, and provide regular reports to senior management.
- Coordinate with external stakeholders, such as regulatory agencies and community groups, to ensure open communication and compliance with environmental requirements.
- Stay up-to-date with relevant environmental legislation and industry best practices, and implement necessary changes to ensure compliance.
- Manage and train a team of environmental specialists and consultants, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Oversee the implementation of environmental monitoring programs and conduct regular site inspections to identify any potential issues.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, and local communities.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in environmental management, preferably in the energy industry but others considered.
- Solid knowledge of environmental regulations and legislation in the UK.
- Experience in conducting environmental impact assessments and developing environmental management plans.
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Solid communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Proven leadership skills and experience in managing a team.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
