Be the Spatial Spark That Drives Innovation

This isn't your standard GIS role. It's a chance to shape how spatial data is used in ecological consultancy - and to do it in a company that's redefining what meaningful, purpose-led work looks like.

Company:

A Consultancy That Thinks Differently:
This isn't a place for red tape or rigid hierarchies. It's a values-led, award-winning business that puts its people, clients, and the planet first. Innovation is encouraged, collaboration is celebrated, and big thinking is part of the everyday life.

Work-Life Balance, Reimagined:
A permanent 4-day working week means 100% of your salary for 80% of your time. More time for rest, life, and everything in between - without compromising your earnings or impact.

Ecology Meets Digital Transformation:
This brand-new role will support ecological teams across a wide variety of projects, from planning and infrastructure to environmental impact. You'll be able to shape processes, systems, and outputs from the ground up, working alongside a growing and ambitious GIS team.

Role:

As a GIS Technician, you'll take the lead on digital transformation across the ecology discipline. Youll:

  • Drive consistency and quality across GIS outputs and spatial data.
  • Help implement and maintain a future-focused GIS strategy.
  • Maintain, clean, and migrate datasets to ensure a single source of truth.
  • Run and refine automated scripts to streamline workflows.
  • Standardise symbology, templates, and schema for mapping and reporting.
  • Support internal training and onboarding materials.
  • Collaborate across disciplines to ensure systems are reusable and interoperable.

You'll also contribute to wider data visualisation and reporting tools - shaping how ecological data is presented and understood.

Essential Attributes:

  • Experience in a GIS role - ideally within an ecological or environmental consultancy.
  • Proficiency in QGIS (additional platforms a plus).
  • Familiarity with digital field data collection tools and integration into GIS workflows.
  • A proactive mindset, confident decision-making, and an eye for innovation.
  • Experience in spatial data management, QA/QC processes, and template development.
  • A collaborative and supportive approach to technical problem-solving.

On Offer:

  • 4-Day Week, Full Pay: 80% time, 100% salary.
  • Hybrid Flexibility: A working week that balances autonomy, collaboration, and site time.
  • People-First Culture: Join a team that values honesty, curiosity, and community.
  • Room to Grow: Access to training, mentorship, and exciting cross-disciplinary projects.
  • Purpose-Led Projects: Help drive digital transformation within a team that's making a measurable environmental impact.
