Clear is looking for a Financial Controller, a CPA with proven experience in Australian financial management, to work remotely (Work-from-Home) for our Australia-based client in the healthcare (dental practice) industry.
Role and Opportunity
As a Financial Controller, you will play a pivotal role in establishing efficient finance processes, managing day-to-day financial operations, providing strategic financial guidance, and ensuring compliance and reporting standards are met. You will report directly to the COO based in Australia, confidently communicate with Executives, and with good interpersonal and customer skills, effectively interact with dental practice admin staff.
Purpose
As a Financial Controller, you are to:
- Establish efficient, centralised finance processes across acquired dental practices, to optimise financial operations and accurate reporting.
- Support the clients Executive Team by delivering timely and precise financial insights for strategic decision-making
- Ensure financial systems and reporting tools are structured for long-term scalability and compliance
As a Financial Controller, you will:
- Set up and maintain the NetSuite financial software and reporting templates
- Oversee and manage the companys finance operations, including:
- Processing of accounts payable
- Processing commission-based payments to dentists, and
- Monthly reporting for each dental practice
- Manage and oversee:
- Budgeting
- Forecasting
- Cash flow management, and
- Financial reporting
- Ensure compliance with Australian accounting standards and tax regulations
- Prepare financial statements and management reports, delivering key insights to the COO and Directors
- Provide financial analysis and guidance on company performance and business decisions
- Manage audits, tax filings, and liaise with external auditors and regulatory bodies
- Monitor internal controls and implement improvements, as necessary
- Maintain a customer service approach when liaising with dental practices to effectively interact with the admin staff
- Perform the other finance-related tasks as required by the COO, Directors, or as requested by the management.
Required Attributes
- You possess strong analytical skills with a high attention to detail
- You have an agile and efficient working style, with the ability to foresee and solve problems
- You are an excellent English communicator with confidence in directly reporting to Executives and the ability to effectively interact with dental practice admin staff, as required
- You apply a good customer service approach when liaising with dental practices
- You can work independently and maintain an optimistic attitude in managing multiple, competing priorities in a time-bounded environment
- You have an absolute respect for confidentiality and sensitivity, and the flexibility to perform other relevant tasks as required by the client or management.
Essential Experience
- A Certified Public Accountant or its equivalent (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA), with verified hands-on exposure in Australian regulations, accounting standards, and tax laws.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Financial Controller or Senior Financial Accountant that includes managing Australian accounts or clients.
- Proficient in NetSuite or similar financial software.
- Advanced MS Excel skills with working knowledge in MS Outlook, Teams, & other MS Office apps.
