The Driver/CSR is a crucial component of the team and is responsible for the operation of the shredding truck and servicing the clients customers on a day-to-day basis. The Driver/CSR is the public face of the company and as such must be able to always perform his/her job duties in a safe and professional manner, while maintaining a constant focus on achieving customer satisfaction. The Driver/CSR must also follow NAID procedures to supply confidential document destruction for the customer.

Available Shift: Monday - Friday (8-hour shifts)

Salary plus full Benefits after probation.

Driving and Operating Duties:

  • Driving the vehicle to service locations while obeying all signs and signals and adhering to the principles of defensive driving.
  • Being courteous to other drivers on the road, keeping in mind that your driving reflects on the image of the client.
  • Operating the truck in the safest and least obtrusive manner possible.
  • Operating the portable handheld computing device to access account information, input data, and print customer receipts.
  • Emptying consoles, as well as counting bins and tipping them into the truck mounted shredder.
  • Operating and troubleshooting the truck mounted shredder.
  • Bringing in and installing bins and consoles for our customers.
  • Offloading truck loads of shredded paper at pre-approved waste collection sites while following their rules and procedures.
  • Performing all routine maintenance checks as well as pre and post trip inspections in accordance with the maintenance schedule.
  • Shredding documents left in the service bay bins by drop and shred customers at the end of the day.
  • Keeping the service bay neat, clean, and organized.
  • Labeling consoles and bins with the appropriate stickers and maintaining an inventory of ready to go bins and consoles.
  • Fueling the trucks.
  • Filling out and submitting routine reports.

Customer Service Duties

  • Maintaining positive rapport and relationship with customer contacts.
  • Addressing and responding to customer inquiries, questions, comments, and concerns.
  • Communicating with the service manager and sales team to coordinate customer service efforts.
  • Complying with NAID procedures for supplying customers with secure, confidential document shredding.
  • Identifying and cold calling potential new clients.

Skills and Requirements:

  • High School Diploma
  • Class 5 drivers license with a good driving record is essential. Air brake endorsement would be an asset.
  • Successful completion of a Defensive Driving Course would be an asset.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with ability to perform routine vehicle maintenance
  • 1-2 years of previous face-to-face customer service experience, preferably in an industrial or service industry
  • Good organizational skills for task prioritization and effective time management
  • High level of personal integrity and strong work ethic
  • Professional/mature demeanor under stressful situations
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to work with little supervision.
  • A clear criminal record
  • Computer Literate
  • Physical Demands/Work Conditions: Will be required to work both indoors and outdoors.
  • Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals.
  • Above average physical activity, such as lifting as much as 75 lbs. on a consistent basis and bending as required.
